As you can see, I love my guitar. I've been playing since May of 1997. Here's a brief story of how I started learning.
When I was little (about 10 years old) my dad tried to teach me to play the guitar on his 1979 limited edition Alvarez acoustic guitar (it's beautiful).
I tried to learn, but it just wasn't my thing. It seemed impossible. Then a couple of years later, in May of 1997, some of the senoirs at my high school were playing the guitar
a lot and I asked one of them, Darren, to teach me a song. I guess I was just trying to "fit it." Well, Darren decided that "Lord I Lift Your Name on High" would be a good and easy
song to teach me. He did, but I didn't play it very well. Well, I wanted to play it better and to be able to switch chords faster,
so that entire summer I spent in my upstairs living room with no other than my father's 1979 limited edition Alvarez acoustic guitar. I practiced all the songs in the chorus book from church
that I had brought home from church. I became good at it quite fast and began playing in church that fall. I have continued to study the instrument and for the last two years and have found it
to be quite enjoyable. I started to play in the worship team in School Chapel (I go to a Christian school) in the 1997-1998 year. It was a difficult year for me, but taught me a lot of things.
This school year, 1998-1999, is my senior year, and I have been able to have the have the privilage of not only playing the guitar, but leading the worship at school. It has been an interesting, blessed
experience with many attacks from Satan to stop us (the team) from doing God's will. He will not win. The Lord will have victory in this. I'm sure of it.
Yes, it's true. It doesn't always take make-up to be a clown. It was interesting how this picture was taken.
I went to get my senior pictures, the ones on the left hand side of this page, taken at Sears.
I had my clown nose in my pocket and I took it out to ask my mom if I could get my pictures done with this on.
Like a usual mother, who wants precious, tear-jerking, senior pictures, told me no. I smirked at her, because I
understood here position and didn't think she'd go for the idea anyways. Well, about half way through my pictures,
I decided to be my usual clowny, smark-alak self and threw the nose on, and jumped into the chair.
I was just joking at the time, but the lady who was taking the pictures decided it would be a good moment to take an unexpected snap shot.
I thought it was perfect when it came up on the screen. It was actually the first picture that I didn't take over like 5 times.
Only once! It was great, and most of all, my mom was thrilled. She loved it and it became my favorite. What's your favorite picture of me?

That's right. You guessed it. I'm a senior this year (1999). I was supposed to graduate in 2000,
but I had a change of plans last year. I figured out that I would have enough credits to graduate with
honors in my junior year if I just took two extra courses on my own, as well as a Health credit (I took CPR at Debora Hospital).
Well, that's exactly what I did. I bet you're wondering why I was so far ahead to be able to graduate with honors in my juniors year.
You see, when I was in 8th grade, the teachers of my classes thought that it would be best to skip me up in a couple of classes that would challange me more.
I'm glad they did! Now that the time rolls around, I've found out that this has made it possible to graduate a year earily. HORRAY FOR SKIPPING!!!
I don't think some of my friends are too happy about this, but I had to do what I had to do. Plus, I go to a Christian school that costs my parents tuition.
With my father being the pastor of my church, and my mother being the secretary of the church, there's not an abundance of money hid in the ceiling tiles to pay
tuition for me to just sit around and take electives all year. So, it all worked out. This coming fall, I will be attending
Burlington County College
for a year. Then, if God's will permits, I will transfer to Bethel College in Indiana. I hope to major in Business Administration, and lean towards the Computer side of it all.
Since you already know I love Web page production, just like this one, I've been thinking about becoming a Webmaster. Sounds like fun to me.
Luke's words of wisdom for the day: "If you find a way
to get paid for what you love to do, you'll never work a day in your life." Well, that's my belief. It seems logical. I would also like to minor in Youth/Music Ministry. I love working with youth and since you've already read my
section on
me and my guitar you understand my focus on the importance of worship.
Wish me luck and send your prayers my way!
